Digestion and Fat Loss


For Starters -

I will preface this post to allow some of you to understand where I am coming from.  On a daily basis we are bombarded by chemicals through our food, air and water. These toxins get into our body on a daily basis and ultimately accumulate over time.  Because many of these toxins are stored in our bodyfat, the result is a tougher time burning/losing bodyfat.  It is EXTREMELY important to lessen the physical demand that the liver (fat-burning) has to do as it already performs over 400 tasks a day.  So following the recommendations I would highly suggest everyone to lessen the toxic load on your body by eating, drinking and breathing cleaner air as often as possible.  Spend some time in the sun (yes it is healthy for you because of the valuable Vit D)  and near the ocean air whether is cool or hot.  Nothing beats getting back to the ocean:)

So here are a few thoughts to ponder and then put into action to bring you closer to  your goals for optimal body composition.

1.  Eat organic grapefruits:
Remember the grapefruit diet? Well, it appears that there actually is an enzyme in grapefruits that burns fat. Eating grapefruits often to help speed the fat burning process. If you are on certain medications that are affected by grapefruit, consult your physician prior to consuming.

2. Take digestive enzymes
If you are overweight there is an excellent chance your body is not producing enough digestive enzymes, causing you to gain weight, feel bloated, have gas, indigestion, and constipation. If you are over 40 y.o. there is a chance your do not produce enough enzymes to properly digest your food!  Go to your health food store and inquire. Try several kinds to see which one works best for you.

3. Use organic apple cider/vinegar
This has some magical property which helps eliminate fat cells from the body. Take a couple of teaspoons before each meal and you will be amazed at how your clothes will become bigger in no time.  Also, many health experts believe that Apple cider vinegar can aid in digestion of foods and prevent heartburn/acid indigestion!  Try it before a meal and see if it works for you!

4. Eat Grass-Fed/Organic Meat (as often as possible)

One of the reasons people are overweight/accumulate fat is because of the growth hormone put in meat, poultry etc. If you want to lose weight, eat meat and poultry as long as it is organic, grass fed, ideally kosher, and most importantly, has not been given growth hormone.  It also has more CLA’s (conjugated linoleic acid) which helps with keeping body fat down.  The fish you eat should not be farm raised, but Wild fish as often as possible.
